Roger's Story

In memory of my husband Roger Morris.

Roger passed away after a two year battle
with throat cancer. Not once did he ask
"why me ". He just said, "why not me,I'm
no more special than anyone else". But
he was... to me and many others.
He is now our angel up above watching us,
guiding us, forever in our hearts.

Poems Written After Rog Passed Over

    God's Chosen Angel

I'm wishing you could be here,
to hold me late at night.
Ohh just to hear your voice,
telling me it's going to be alright.

    When will it get better?
Will I ever feel whole again?
Or will I forever keep drowning,
    in my own deep sorrow?

Why did God need you more?
Wish that you could tell me.
I guess he needed another angel,
    so he chose you.

    He made a good choice,
    just wish it wasn't you.
    But tell me dear,
where could he have found a better man?

    Someone so sweet, so sensitive,
    so strong, so honest.
    So giving of himself,
a better man he couldn't of found.

    So he chose you,
    my warmth in winter.
    My sunshine in the spring,
my love, my life, my best friend.

I thank God for loaning you to me,
I cherish the years we had.
The memories, the hugs, the sunshine of your smile,
the promises kept, but most of all for the laughter.

You are the one that taught me,
how to love, to laugh, to dance.
You gave me all you had to give,
and then just kept on giving.

    And I thank you.

You were a friend to all you met,
    not an enemy you made.
There was so much goodness in you,
that you couldn't help but give it away.
And so I say, so long my friend,
you are forever in my heart.
Just wish that you could tell me,
when the hurt will finally stop.

Words In The Night Last night as I lay sleeping, I sensed a presence near. I saw above me an angel, She told me, "You have nothing to fear". She said, "My dear sweet child, Our Lord has heard you weep. He promised to never forsake you, a promise he intends to keep. He knows the road you've traveled, he sees the strides you've made. Keep faith in him, my child, and never be afraid. He has not told me his plans for you, that would be revealing too much. But this much I can tell you, in Him place all your trust. Look to the future, for yesterday's gone, happiness lies in your tomorrows. Lift your heart up to Him, and lay to rest all your sorrows". My angel faded from my sight, and left behind a warmth. My guardian Angel, sent from God, beautiful, serene and kind. © CM 04/12/97

Season's Of My Life

When I see the first falling leaves
make a crisp blanket upon the ground
I will be thinking of you
and long walks in the woods

When I see the first icy snowflakes
falling from a cold winter sky
I will be thinking of you
and running out to make angels

When I see the first crocus of spring
peeking it's head through the soil
I will be thinking of you
and playing in the rain

When I see the first star filled night
following a cloudless summer day
I will be thinking of you
and wishing upon a star

You were the seasons of my life
come winter, spring, summer or fall
I will be thinking of you
and a life that ended too soon
